Marquita Pring 2023: Puerto Rico
Marquita Pring returns for her fourth SI Swimsuit Issue appearance, after making her debut in 2020 in Wyoming. The New York native was photographed by Ben Watts in Puerto Rico along with fellow models Jasmine Sanders, Georgina Burke, Lorena Durán and Mady Dewey.
Pring moved to Brooklyn at the age of 16 to pursue modeling full-time and hasn’t looked back since. She made her first major appearances in 2011, walking in Jean Paul Gaultier’s show during Paris Fashion Week and appeared in an iconic Vogue Italia cover story the same year. Pring is active on social media and is constantly encouraging people in tough situations to step into their power while being vulnerable.
Rich in culture and history, Puerto Rico offers both thrilling adventure and ultimate relaxation. It’s a hot spot for authentic cuisine, exotic wildlife, breathtaking scenery and more. The archipelago located in the Caribbean Sea consists of one main island and four smaller islands, as well as numerous islets, all of which offer secluded sandy spots and immaculate views. It provided an unforgettable setting for the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue.

Styling for Pring’s photo shoot in Puerto Rico, a top surfing destination in the Caribbean, was inspired by 1970s surf culture—pops of color, laid-back “surf’s up” aesthetic and vintage prints. The SI Swimsuit team carefully chose pieces that could tell a story of a playful, chill and unfussy time.
